The Leftist Mind: The Reasons of Treason

Greetings puny Earthlings. It is I, Remulak MoxArgon, Usurper of the Court of a Thousand Galaxies, Ruler of the Known Universe, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Today is the beginning of what I hope will be a new feature here with the MoxArgon Group. I call it The Liberal Mind, where we dip our toes into the writhing snakepit of modern liberal/leftist thought.

Today, we look at the concept of treason.

According to the Oxford English Dictionary TREASON is...
noun the crime of betraying one’s country, especially by attempting to kill or overthrow the sovereign or government.
Sounds pretty clear cut, doesn't it.

Now here's a recent quote about treason by a prominent liberal politician and 'activist':

"This is treason. And we need to start treating them as traitors." -Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Now that's a pretty strong accusation.

Who was he talking about?

Let's look at the possible suspects.

Was it....?
For not finding a covert anti-terrorist operation it didn't feel the need to expose, and turning the CIA into an organization with more leaks than the Titanic?

Nope.

Could he have been talking about....

Lynne Stewart: A lawyer and "civil rights activist" knowingly passed messages from her client, a convicted terrorist, to his followers on the outside. Actions that resulted in people getting killed in the name of radical Islam?

Was Robert Kennedy Jr. talking about her?

Nope.

Could it have been....Newsweek Magazine: whose bogus story of "flushed Korans" story sparked worldwide riots leading to hundreds of deaths around the world and giving propaganda fuel to Islamic extremists which is still being used to this day?

Nope.

Was he talking about....

Medea Benjamin: Professional anti-war activist whose group Code Pink gave $600,000 in aid to pimp turned Al Qaida terrorist kingpin Abu Musab Al Zarqawi in a direct violation of American law and common decency?

Nope.

Mr. Kennedy wasn't talking about any of them, or anyone like them.

In fact he was talking about people who refuse to worshipAl Gore

Yep.

According to Kennedy not wanting to give your complete loyalty, unquestioning obedience, and, most importantly, money to Al Gore, who is not the leader of any sovereign nation, is a betrayal of Mother Earth and must be treated as treason.

That kind of says something about where their heads are at, doesn't it?

So until next time, keep watching the skies, because we're watching you.

So glad you paid attention to RFK Jr.'s "Live Earth" speech.

The quote you pulled from his speech should be taken in full context: (here it is minus your spin)

"Now you've heard today a lot of people say that there are many little things that you all can do today to avert climate change on your own. But I will tell you this, it is more important than buying compact fluorescent light bulbs or than buying a fuel efficient automobile. The most important thing you can do is to get involved in the political process and get rid of all of these rotten politicians that we have in Washington D.C. -- Who are nothing more than corporate toadies for companies like Exxon and Southern Company, these villainous companies that consistently put their private financial interest ahead of American interest and ahead of the interest of all of humanity. THIS IS TREASON AND WE NEED TO START TREATING THEM AS TRAITORS."

Screw RFK Jr’s speech. I’d rather follow The Moxargon Groups example of:

1. Club a baby seal because there is an instinctive murderer in all of us.
2. Give the attention starved, draft-dogin, Republican chickenhawk, NRA spokesman a present. How about sending him a dead baby seal? He would love that.
3. Continue to explore for new sites to drill oil until we have used every last drop. Screw alternative sources it just too much sacrifice and hard work.
4. Continue to spew misinformation regarding Global Warming.
5. Deny Al Gore’s message because it is just a ploy to make money, because he is obviously broke. Multi- Millionaires just aren’t what they used to be.
6. Continue to support the oil industry’s slick public relation firms, phony think tanks in DC, and crooked scientists.

More important excerpts from his speech include:

ROBERT F. KENNEDY JR.: “Now we've all heard the oil industry and the coal industry and their indentured servants in the political process telling us that global climate stability is a luxury that we can't afford. That we have to choose now between economic prosperity on the one hand and environmental protection on the other. And that is a false choice.
In 100% of the situations, good environmental policy is identical to good economic policy --- if we want to measure our economy, and this is how we ought to be measuring it, based upon how it produces jobs and the dignity of jobs over the generations, how it preserves the values of the assets of our community and how it averts the catastrophe of global warming.
If, on the other hand, we want to do what they've been urging us to do on Capitol Hill which is to treat the planet as if it were a business in liquidation, convert our natural resources to cash as quickly as possible, have a few years of pollution based prosperity, we can generate an instantaneous cash flow and the illusion of a prosperous economy. But our children are going to pay for our joyride with denuded landscapes, with poor health, with huge cleanup costs and with climate chaos which is going to amplify over time and that they will never be able to pay.
Environmental injury is deficit spending. It is a way of loading the costs of our generation's prosperity on to the backs of our children. Climate change is upon us. Its impacts are going to be catastrophic and we are causing it. The good news is, we have the scientific and technological capacity to avert its most catastrophic impacts. We only need the political will.
If we raise fuel economy standards in our automobiles by one mile --- we generate twice the amount of oil that is in the Arctic National Wildlife Refugee. If we raise fuel economy standards by 7.6 miles per gallon we yield more oil than we now import from the Persian Gulf. We can eliminate 100% of Persian Gulf oil.
Think about what that would do for our economy, for our foreign policy, for our global leadership, it would dramatically improve our balance of payments, reduce our national debt and make all of us more prosperous and more independent and spare us from wars in the Mid-East that are costing us, already, a trillion dollars and from entanglements with Mid-Eastern dictators who despise democracy and are hated by their own people.”

I missed the part where he talked about his relative Joe Kennedy shilling for Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez with his Joe For Oil campaign in Massachusetts.

Is he on his list of traitors?

Interestingly, the Kennedy family is involved in oil, through their non-profit Citizens' Energy Corporation. NOT AS PROFITEERS LIKE THE BUSHES. Not to manipulate prices and public opinion like the Bushes. The Kennedy oil connection is a non-profit public service cooperative, whose sole purpose is to provide low income Americans with oil to heat their homes. It is a fully non-profit organization with absolutely no financial gain for the Kennedy family at all.

I do not think Robert Kennedy Jr. has a problem with his son doing something GOOD with oil for a change.

Joe Kennedy is paid over $400,000 a year by Citizen's Oil. His predecessor, another Kennedy, got closer to $600,000 a year, but people started asking questions when Joe took over.

That's a lot of empty oil tanks to pay someone who is already supposed to be a millionaire.

"As for questioning my $60,000 salary for administering a $60 million program that requires finding hundreds of thousands of eligible needy families in over 16 states and hundreds and hundreds of homeless shelters as well, maybe the Providence Journal should ask the chairman of ExxonMobil why he earned over $1 billion last year while declining to put a cent of the company's record $36 billion in annual profits to help those least able to handle the run-up in oil prices."

-Joe Kennedy

Most folks who have studied the Citizen's Oil books say Joe makes about $400,000 a year not $60,000 a year.

His late brother Michael who used to run Citizen's Oil made $650,000 a year. But folks started asking questions about the salary after Michael's death, so Joe took a pay cut.

Is the man who runs Exxon a greedy bastard?

Yes.

But he's not running a charity.

Joe Kennedy comes from a family that are supposed to be worth hundreds of millions already. His namesake Joseph P. Kennedy I made millions in insider trading, bootlegging whiskey, ripping off Gloria Swanson, and doing business with Adolph Hitler.

That should have afforded Joe a little noblesse oblige.

And Joe should be ashamed of doing business with Hugo, helping legitimize a corrupt, violent, oppressive, and incompetent regime.

Sure Hugo Chavez is giving away some oil, but he's also amassing weapons and handing them out to narco-terrorists, and making deals to buy nuclear material from Iran so he can conquer all of South America and ruin them like he did Venezuela.
